The weather was HOT, there were nasty looking cloud formations all around the area, even a reported tornado touch-down about 6 miles away, but, the party went on!! Independence Chapter, ABATE of Florida celebrated their Sweet 16th Birthday with a luau type party at the #81 Legion in Melbourne. I passed through a heavy down-pour on the way there, but thankfully, no rain fell on the party itself! Big Daddy’s hard rock band was wailing, and Doc Holiday filled in between sets and kinda acted as MC too. Many awards were given out to deserving folks, there was a silent auction, and of course, a 50/50. Later in the day, when the heat abated a bit, bike games were held…in the waning daylight, I might add! Lots of good food and drink to fill yer tummies, good entertainment, lots of prevailing brotherhood, and a good place to relax! Who could ask for more? Well…oh, never mind!! Hey, do something for “the cause”…join ABATE, and, ride safe…
