Nobodies’ Opinion May 2012

By Billy “Kneecap” Braddock

I realize that I am the fertility drug for your brain, because my articles have the substance to enhance the ability to produce new thoughts. See how humble and modest I am. Let me first say that I am not an Anarchist. However, I believe in limited government. We have become a “Regulation Nation”. 40,000 new laws were passed in January alone. God only had 10. “I have wondered at times about what the 10 Commandments would have looked like if Moses had run them through the U.S. Congress” (Ronald Reagan).

Many of the freedoms we enjoy are quickly eroding. We are becoming the land of the enslaved instead of the land of the free. Some states even have laws forbidding the collecting of rainwater. Key West would not even have existed before 1941 when the pipeline from Florida City was built, had it not been for collecting rainwater in cisterns. In New York City, it’s illegal to give the homeless bagels. The government says they want to monitor the salt, fat, and fiber eaten by the homeless. They may starve to death, but they won’t have high cholesterol. However, the government does have a solution to high gas prices. “Raise taxes on the oil companies.” B.O.H.I.C.A. As long as we remain unaware and uninformed, the government will keep chipping away at our freedoms. When people believe their rights stem from government, and not the government receives its rights from the people, they will always be enslaved. The government now claims it owns your land, your water, and your body, maybe next they’ll say that they own the air, and they will be charging “an air tax”. I think the government has hired a new law firm “Dowe, Screwem, and Howe”.

Enough politics, let’s talk about the month of May. May is National Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month. It contains VE day (8th) and Memorial Day (28th). We also ride to Washington, DC for Rolling Thunder (27th). But most important is Mother’s Day (13). May 4th is International Female Ride Day. Although it’s traditionally been a male dominated pastime, more women are riding. There are nearly 4 1/2 million women motorcycle riders on the road today. One out of every 10 motorcycle owners is a woman. And the number of women motorcycle riders is increasing at a higher rate than males, 28% versus 7%. Some well-known celebrity women motorcycle riders include Cher, Angelina Jolie, Pink, Jewel, Queen Latifah, Wynona Judd, Elizabeth Taylor, Tanya Tucker, Courtney Cox, K.D. Lang, the former governor of Texas, Ann Richards, and even the lady who’s been in the news a lot lately, Gabriel Gifford. Many women’s motorcycle clubs are trying to change the perception of female bikers. They’ve kicked the “Biker Chick” image. They are no longer riding bitch, they control the throttle. They include single, married, moms, grandmothers, etc… Even though I enjoy women in leather, I also like it when they wear lace. My girlfriend rides a Honda Shadow, but refers to me as her Crotch Rocket. I’m not sure how I should take that.

Thought for the day: Remember, don’t make old people mad. They don’t like being old in the first place, so it isn’t going to take much to piss them off. They didn’t get old by being stupid.

Don’t know if you follow football, but I think the Denver Broncos are the first NFL team to sacrifice a virgin for a chance to win the Super Bowl.
See you on the shiny side of tomorrow.
