Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona H-D Bike Week 2021
By Lulu
The 80th Bike Week was off the charts, even with Covid, in Ormond Beach at Bruce Rossmeyer’s Daytona H-D. Four bike shows, Rhett Rotten’s Wall of Death, vendors galore, a free Jackyl concert, demo rides, add hot bartenders and Governor Ron DeSantis to the mix and you have a crazy 10-day event. I was lucky enough to attend the Flying Piston Benefit Builder’s Breakfast. This charity event had biking celebrities all over the place. Billy and Warren Lane, Jodie and Dave Perewitz were all spotted chatting and kind enough to pose for my camera. The photo of our governor I am sorry to say had to be provided by Anthony Sica from the dealership, as I missed the opportunity to meet him. He was on property enjoying Bike Week with the masses, even taking time to have a Budweiser and experience the Wall of Death. Thanks to Geico, Budweiser, Clarion Inn, and Rubenstein Law for their sponsorship of Bike Week!
Adamec Harley-Davidson St. Augustine Celebrates Bike Week 2021
By Lulu
The new crib of the Adamec family is a state-of-the-art building in St. Augustine. This year Missy and the crew at Adamec went all out with bands, the Ive’s Brothers Wall of Death, Harley-Davidson Demo Truck, and on Sat the 13th Cycle Source Magazine brought in Alleyway Kustoms Bike Show & Pro-Builder Invitational. And the personal collection of the Adamec family’s bikes out in front of the building was a show of its own. If you have not made the ride to St. Augustine to check out the dealership, it is at 380 Outlet Mall Blvd. and is impressive.
Chopper Time 2021
By Lulu
Each year Willie and his crew take on a massive undertaking to bring Choppertime to the masses. With the help of sponsors like Twisted Tea and Rue & Ziffra who help get the word out, they put on one of the best and largest bike shows anywhere. The front and back lots are filled to capacity. This year was no exception! Live music fills the back lot. Vendors and food are there too. But one of the things I love the most about Willie is he uses this event to help the veterans that he loves and admires. All beer and liquor proceeds go to veteran causes!!! Too many winners and photos to fit in the magazine so please check out Thunder Roads Florida Facebook, go to Albums and find Chopper Time 2021!

Pony Tales May 2021
Well occasionally I make mistakes, do not share this information with T.J. though! I neglected to put Ed’s picture, the winner of the chili cook-off at Bay 3, in the article that was in the April issue. So, I am including it here to make the world right. Please accept my apology Ed. I had some camera problems that day.
Other than that, I want to say that May brings us Mother’s Day and Memorial Day Weekend. Do not forget your mothers on this special day and take a moment to think of all the lives lost to give us the freedom we have enjoyed so far.
I am worried, as all people are, at this point in the Biden administration that we are heading to hell in a handbag! Hundreds of thousands of immigrants are flooding in through our southern border. I went to the US Customs page and in 2019 Jan-Mar under Trump, before he made the agreement with Mexico, there were 238,593 encounters at the southern border. In 2020, for the same 3-month period, it decreased to 106,732 with the help of the wall and Mexico’s government. Under Biden an all-time high of 351,803 in the 3-month period. Now, after the liberal controlled Congress have decided to bail states like New York out of financial trouble, Gov. Cuomo is promising illegals that have been unemployed since March 2020 due to Covid $12,600 as a 1-time payment. That is 2.1 billion for illegals in New York versus 1.1 billion for small businesses in New York devasted by Covid shut down. Does anyone on the liberal side see this as insanity???
Well enough of that.
Get some wind therapy, check out our bars & restaurants on the Motorcycle Friendly Directory page and find a new place for a cold one and don’t forget your sunscreen.
Boot Hill Saloon Oldest T-Shirt Contest
By Lulu
One of our favorite spots in the greater Daytona area is the old Boot Hill Saloon on Main Street. It isn’t a knock on the bar to say “old” because it really is the history of Bike Week parties and of t-shirts! So, Karin throws a yearly oldest t-shirt contest, and lots of men and women dug in their drawers and pulled out old Boot Hill shirts. The bar is really known for having great musicians strumming their guitars, singing their hearts out and hitting the skins! Bike Week was no exception with bands like Nova Rex, Matt O’ree, Stonegrey, Geneva, Blistur and Nicholoff hitting the stage on Main Street and their US 1 location, the Boot Hill Outpost. Don’t forget they have a bike night on Wednesday nights year-round!
Kory Souza No Class Bike Show Bike Week 2021
By Lulu
This was my 3rd Kory Souza Bike Show and once again he did not disappoint. For those unfamiliar with Kory. He is a creative bike builder based in Sarasota, Florida. He also throws a huge bike show in Sturgis each year. This year it was complete with a sound off and the walls shook in the Ocean Center as the owner’s took their turn at impressing the judges. The bikes in this show were masterpieces. Put this on your list of not to miss events at Bike Week in Daytona next year or at Sturgis in August 2021!
Yuengling Tattoo Contests It’s All About the Ink
By Lulu
World famous Willie from Tropical Tattoo and Yuengling put on two tattoo contests during Bike Week 2021. The first was at OB’s in Deland with a large number of both male and female winners. The second at world famous Iron Horse Saloon. Winners received Tropical Tattoo vouchers for more ink. The winner at Iron Horse didn’t have one inch of skin left to tattoo so he donated his $500 grand prize to a worthy veteran. A special thank you to Willie, Tropical Tattoo, Yuengling, Roadside Marty and Cap Wilson for taking their time during a busy Bike Week to entertain the masses, but particularly to S. R. Perrott for their sponsorship of many events during Bike Week, including the Perewitz Paint Show and Rusty Wallace Meet & Greets at The Broken Spoke.
OB’s Bike Rally 2021
By Lulu
This year due to Covid, I suppose, Deland Bike Rally didn’t happen during Bike Week. So, Kristi at OB’s in Deland stepped in and put on a Yuengling sponsored tattoo contest with Willie from Tropical Tattoo and a bike show with Cap Wilson. Bad weather and heavy rain that day may have dampened the event but lots of tattoos entered. OB’s also had great live music all week and stunt riders to entertain the bike week crowds. Look for their Americana Bike Show coming up June 13th the place was packed last year, and don’t forget their Wednesday night Bike Nights.
Iron Horse Saloon Bike Week 2021
By Lulu
80th Bike Week was another year for the record books for Iron Horse Saloon. The crowds were awesome, weather mostly fair, David Allan Coe still filled the place, T-shirt sales were brisk, the lines for the Wall of Death long and Craiger’s famous steak tips filled many a belly. Bobby Friss, Highway to Hell, Whey Jennings, and Creed Fisher all entertained the masses. Great job Melissa, Sally, Steve, and Sherry for being a favorite of bikers from all over the world.
Cabbage Patch Bike Week 2021 More Than Just Slaw
By Lulu
Finally, a great Bike Week at the Cabbage Patch Bar in Samsula. The past few events have been rained on, Covid attacked and basically even shut down the final weekend last year. This year the weather God was good, the crowds huge, the coleslaw wrestling girls fierce, some even good looking and the bike shows put on by Radical Randy were well attended. Battle of the Baggers and the Traditional Ride-In Bike Show sponsored by Budweiser and Fran Haasch Law Group had some awesome creations. The property was full of vendors selling their wares. The music at Cabbage Patch included Big Engine, Duval County Line Band and Joe Santana all were some of my favorites of the rally. Look for more fun at Biketoberfest, but remember the bar is open for fun all year.
Broken Spoke Music, Bike Shows & Rusty Wallace
By Lulu
The beautiful property that is home to the Ormond Beach Broken Spoke Saloon was lively all day and night for Bike Week 2021. With live music by Saliva, Bobby Friss, Stone Senate and Hairball, the bar had some of the best music in town. Bad Apple Bash featured rat rods, choppers, hot rods and a rat bike show, Warren Lane’s True Grit is a vintage bike gathering. Cycle Source featured a custom bike show. Perewitz paint show and Dennis Kirk’s Garage Built Show are always a crowd gathering event. The Broken Spoke ad claims to have the best bartenders on the planet and since some are my friends I MUST agree. The new kid on the block for Bike Week 2021 was famous NASCAR driver Rusty Wallace and crew with their new custom-built bikes, Southern Country Customs. Rusty was very gracious with his fans and enjoyed the meet and greets sponsored by Miller Lite.
First Turn Home of Great Food & Great Music
By Lulu
The parking lot was packed Bike Week 2021. Locals and visitors to our great slice of the state all know that Denise and Rick Hilliard strive to have a place where it feels like you are sitting in your yard at home. The huge outdoor tiki area is mostly covered now so you are in the shade and if rain does occur you stay dry. The music from Hayfire on Country Night to Blues on Bike Night Tuesdays, the music is always above par and Bike Week was no exception. But what First Turn is and always has been known for is the Sizzlin’ Steaks and great seafood! If you haven’t been, try the Firecracker Shrimp, Redneck Salad (my favorite and enough for two) or the steak which really does sizzle! Come with an appetite but be patient as everyone is experiencing help shortages and the food is prepared for you. First Turn is on US 1 in Port Orange and they are always happy to host a poker run too!
50 Years in The Florida Sunshine
By Lulu
The Sunshine Chapter of the Antique Motorcycle Club of America celebrated 50 years during Bike Week 2021. Field games, swap meets, AMCA judged bike show, a chopper show, low country seafood boil was all part of the festivities for the National Meet. This year they honored the U. S. Navy. For those of you who love the history of antique motorcycles this is a yearly event not to be missed.
Coming up in May is another amazing event for antique bikes at The World Golf Village in St. Augustine, Riding into History is on April 24th and Wayne Carini, from Chasing Classic Cars is the Grand Marshal. This year’s theme is Brilliant British Bikes.
Doing It Dog House Style
By Lulu
The Dog House on Nova Rd. in Port Orange has become one of the most attended bars for Bike Week. Rhonda brings in bands like Molly Hatchet and Big Engine for music enthusiasts. Midget wrestling for those who like kinky stuff. And the crowd favorite is always scantily clothed women and this year’s bikini contest sponsored by certainly was eye appealing candy. Paige walked away with the first-place prize and that girl has a smoking body. A special thank you to Scotty Boy Landscaping for the sponsorship of this smoking hot contest! Twisted Tea sponsored a kick-off event with giveaways and games, thank you Billy and Twisted Tea. Not Bike Week? This bar is always searching for new things to entertain their patrons. The food is great, Dirty Bingo…dirty, customer appreciation BBQ a must do and weekly music for every taste. Put your kickstands up and check out The Dog House to see what Rhonda is up to.
