Keeping in the Bull’s Eye tradition of our featured biker, this month’s Bull’s Eye lives and breathes motorcycles, but in her case she was literally born into it. Being the daughter of famous bike builder Dave Perewitz and Susan, Jody has spent her whole life in the world of motorcycles. And boy did she make her Daddy proud this year! Jody broke the women’s speed record going 200 mph at the BUB Speed Trials in Bonneville on an American V Twin. The ground up custom was built at Perewitz. She is the Danika Patrick of motorcycles: speed and beauty!

The 28 year old was born in Brockton, MA and resides in Middleboro. She attended college at the University of Massachusetts and she works with the family business Perewitz Cycle Fabrication in Bridgewater, MA. Jody, part of the Triple J, with older brother Jesse and younger sis Jaren, says her first bike was a Honda 50 at 5 years old. She raced a time or two on dirt, but broke the women’s land speed record at Bonneville, and her first race as an adult was just July of this year!

When asked how she acquired the love of motorcycles she says as a young sister of Jesse she wanted to do everything he did and when he offered to let her ride his bike she did and just loved it. She had her motorcycle license before her auto license and I would venture to guess she owns more bikes than cars. Jody lists a 1963 Harley, a Buell Firebolt, a rigid custom and a Road Glide as bikes in her stable.

Too busy with bikes for a boyfriend she has 3 dogs that have to come to work with her everyday to spend time with their mama. What little free time she may have she spends surfing in the summer and snowboarding in the winter.

Jody is hands on in the fabrication business, building a bike for charity in 2008, a rigid bobber that was raffled off to raise money for breast cancer.

She and her bike (264) will be with her dad at the Allstate site at the Speedway during Biketoberfest, so go on Facebook to find their scheduled appearances and to follow their team at www.facebook.com/teamjwitz . Jody is as nice as she is pretty and being a biker is her life! That is what makes her our October Bull’s Eye.
