All Roads Lead to H & D Roadhouse and their 1st Annual Biker Appreciation Day

By Miserable George

Ya know, when yer enjoying reasonably good health, ya kinda take it for granted...right? Well folks, that’s a luxury that Linda Frazier couldn’t enjoy. First off, she lost her job at the Space Center; second, she developed a heart condition which required the insertion of a pacemaker. Not a good situation either way! It happened that Harry and the gang at the H&D Roadhouse on Merritt Is., Fl. heard about Linda’s situation, and decided to lend a hand in the form of a poker run, and biker appreciation party. So, on Aug.21, 2011, the wheels were set in motion...motorcycle wheels, that is!!! Read the rest of this entry »

By Billy”Kneecap”Braddock

Here we are in September and most students are back in school. First, we miss define the word student. The term refers to a person who is engaged in learning. Have you talked to a High School graduate lately? Da! Also, the term public school (pronounced and spelled “screw-all”) is also ill defined. As defined by radio talk show host, Neal Boortz, we should be calling them government schools. Makes sense. After all, they are owned and operated by the government. Read the rest of this entry »

Micah and I had an opportunity to do something so awesome I just have to share it. We were in Monroe County (Key Largo to Key West) doing the research for September’s article County by County Riding Florida and happened to stay at the Hampton Inn in Key Largo. While walking past the poolside Tiki bar Micah noticed an unusual “pen like” area in the waters adjacent to the hotel property and asked the bartender what it was. She told us it was the Marine Mammal Conservancy and that they were seeking volunteers to save a pilot whale. Curiosity got the better of us and Read the rest of this entry »
